Q: Dear sir, Could you please send me a manual on how to apply flashing around objects. I am putting on a metal roof on and I have skylights and chimneys. If not, could you tell me where to get one.

My response follows:
A: Installation procedures and flashing methods are determined largely based upon the exact type of panel being installed. First and foremost I urge you to obtain instructions from the manufacturer of your roofing. Unfortunately, if they cannot provide instructions then I would worry as to how seriously they take their business and I would look for a different manufacturer.

I am attaching a manual for one of my company’s products which may be helpful.

Two manufacturers, Fabral and Metal Sales, have manuals available to the public through their websites. You may find something there helpful as well.
